Your answer should look something like the red arrow in the figure. First of all, the gradient vector should be normal to the local isotherm, and point in the direction of increasing temperature. Secondly, the vector should be longer than either of the other two vectors. This is because the isotherms near the yellow dot are very tightly bunched together, indicating a rapid rate of temperature increase (with respect to distance).
