About the MAC

The Mathematics Assistance Center is a service of the Department of Mathematical Sciences and University College at IUPUI. The Center offers Mentoring, Tutoring, and limited Media Online Math Tutorials. Please note the location, hours, and additional details about services below.

MAC Location and Hours

The MAC is located in Taylor Hall (UC) room B001.

The hours include the following:

• Mon-Thurs, 9:00 am to 9:00 pm
• Fri & Sat, 11:00 am to 3:00 pm
• Sun 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm

Student Services

Walk-in Tutoring

Walk-in Tutoring is currently available for all of the Algebra, Pre-Calculus, and Calculus courses offered at IUPUI.

• Sessions are open to all IUPUI students enrolled in Math M001, 00100, 11000, 11100, M118, M119, 15300, 15400, 15900, 16500, 16600, 17100, 22100, 22200, 23100, 23200, 26100 and 26600.
• Bring your books and your questions.
• You may arrive at anytime during a session.
• Walk in, sit down, identify the tutor, and ask questions.
• Each time you visit you must sign in.
• On your first visit, you must also provide your student ID number.
• At most times, there are 1-2 tutors that can help with your specific course.

Peer Mentoring

Mentoring Sessions are an informal group environment in which one of your peers whom has recently taken the course and done very well leads the group through a guided review of current course material.

These group review sessions are offered during scheduled times only and are the MAC's preferred means of service for the specific courses listed above Monday through Thursday throughout the day. Tutoring help is available at all other times.

Mentoring sessions are in support of lecture and not a replacement of them. If you happen to miss any class throughout the semester, please contact your instructor to catch up on all missed material.

Help with Online-Homework

Help with Online-Homework (MathXL/MyMathLab) and Software Projects (Maple/Matlab) is currently available in a computer lab within the MAC for students enrolled in MATH M001/00100, 11000, 11100, m118, m119, 16600, 22100, and 22200.

Help with Minitab for Stats 30100 and 35000 is available in LD225 at the scheduled times.
