Welcome! The Department of Mathematical Sciences at Indiana University-Purdue
University Indianapolis is one of the seven departments of the Purdue School of
Science at IUPUI. The department consists of approximately 30 tenured or
tenure-track professors and 15 full-time lecturers. Current research strengths
within the department include integrable systems, mathematical physics, dynamical
systems, noncommutative geometry, operator algebras, differential geometry, partial
differential equations, functional analysis, statistics and probability, applied
mathematics, biomathematics, computational neurosciences, and scientific computing. The Department offers programs leading to the Bachelor of Science (B.S.), Master of Science (M.S.), and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degrees in Mathematics from Purdue University. Bachelor's degree options include Pure Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Actuarial Science, and Secondary School Teaching. Master's degree options include Pure Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Applied Statistics, and Mathematics Education. Travel Information Traveling to IUPUI and the Department of Mathematical Sciences is very easy. The IUPUI campus is located on the west side of downtown Indianapolis.
