2000 Math Contest First Prize Winner, Jonathan Landy,
accepts his trophy as Professor Richard Patterson tells
the audience of his accomplishments. Math is Jon's
favorite subject, and he has liked his geometry class most
of all during his sophomore year at Warren Central. He has
enjoyed competing in the national math contests like the AMSA
contest and won the award as the best sophomore in the school.
He is also taking x-biology and marine biology this year for
sciences. He studies French and he went to France with the
school as a member of the French Club last summer. He plays
varsity tennis for the high school and was the number three
singles player this year. He was a member of the Warren
Central Marching Band this year and the Warren Central Drum
Line. He is a member of the National Honor Society. He has
done service for the society by tutoring kids to pass the
graduation exam as well as other community service. On
weekends he referees soccer games.

Department of Mathematical Sciences and Brenda Bishop
Director of Development, School of Science. Dr. Tedesco
presented the winners and their guests with a facinating
talk about the effects of human-generated weather changes
on the environment.

Toyota representative, Callie Zak, chats with parents during
the reception. The wonderful sponsorship of Toyota Motors
Manufacturing, Indiana, has promoted the Math Contest during
its first three years of growth.

Student winners with their families enjoy the reception.
