Scholarships & Financial Aid

UPUI Office of Student Scholarships

A wide variety of scholarships are available for both beginning and continuing IUPUI students. These scholarships include admission-based scholarships, research scholarships, diversity scholarships, competitive scholarships, service scholarships, financial need-based scholarships, and transfer scholarships.

IUPUI Office of Financial Aid Services

The Office of Student Financial Aid Services administers Federal Title IV financial aid programs and State Student Assistance Commission of Indiana financial aid programs at IUPUI. Student eligibility is determined after receipt of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the appropriate aid year.

Scholarships specifically for math majors:

For Beginning (Freshman) Students:

  • Anna K. Suter Scholarships
    are given to undergraduate majors in Mathematics. Recipients must be full-time students and are chosen based on academic achievement and professional objective, and the winners are selected by the Faculty Awards Committee. The scholarship amounts vary between $300 and $2,500, renewable up to four years.
  • The School of Science Dean's Scholars Program
    is designed for beginning School of Science freshmen. These competitive scholarships provide awards of up to $2,500 per academic year, renewable up to $10,000. Contact the School of Science at (317) 274-0626 for additional information.
  • Scholarship opportunities for math education majors (secondary school teaching) may be available; visit the UCASE (Urban Center for the Advancement of STEM Education) website for more information.

For Continuing Students:

  • Anna K. Suter Scholarships
    are given to undergraduate majors in Mathematics. Recipients must be full-time students and are chosen based on academic achievement and professional objective, and the winners are selected by the Faculty Awards Committee. The scholarship amounts vary between $300 and $2,500, renewable up to four years.
  • School of Science Dean's Scholars
    Continuing science majors with a minimum of 25 credit hours completed at IUPUI by the end of the spring semester during which application is being made and at least a 3.5 GPA may apply for this competitive scholarship. Renewable, contingent upon funding. Application, essay and two letters of recommendation, one of which must be from a full-time faculty member in the School of Science, must be received by the School of Science Dean's Office. For SPAN Students:

Outstanding SPAN Student in Mathematics
This award is given to an outstanding SPAN student at IUPUI who has completed a mathematics courses at the level of Math 165 (Analytic Geometry and Calculus I) or above (e.g. Math 166, 261, or 266). Recipients are chosen based on academic achievement, both in high school and at IUPUI, and the winners are selected by the Faculty Awards Committee. The award amount varies between $100 and $200.
