Curriculum Vitae et Studiorum

Profs. Harris, Guidoboni, Sacco and Januleviciene have co-organized the first International Congress of Advanced Technologies and Treatments for Glaucoma (ICATTG15), October 29-31, 2015, Politecnico di Milano (Italy), which featured among the events of EXPO 2015. ICATTG15 brought together experts from various disciplines, including ophthalmologists, physicians, mathematicians, physicists and engineers, in an open and personal atmosphere to promote the transfer of knowledge and foster new collaborations across scientific fields in the common fight against glaucoma.


The Journal for Modeling in Ophthalmology (JMO) has been founded by Profs. A. Harris and G. Guidoboni in 2014, jointly with Mr. Simon Bakker (Kugler Publications, Amsterdam, The Netherlands) with the aim of providing a forum for interdisciplinary approaches integrating mathematical and computational modeling techniques to address open problems in ophthalmology. The Editorial Board members include experts in ophthalmology, physiology, mathematics and engineering and strive to ensure the highest scientific level of the contributions selected for publication.


Prof. Guidoboni is one of the three 2014 Laureates receiving the prestigious Chaire Gutenberg funded by the Region Alsace and the Urban Community of Strasbourg. Gutenberg Chairs are awarded attract high-caliber internationally renowned researchers for extended visits to research institutions in Alsace (France). Research proposals are examined by an international scientific committee. All disciplines are eligible. Since its inception in 2007, the Cercle Gutenberg has awarded a total of 24 Gutenberg Chairs. Dr. Guidoboni was the first mathematician to receive this award.
