Register online for the 2009 Statistics Career Day

The Central Indiana Chapter of the American Statistical Association (ASA) and the IUPUI Department of Mathematical Sciences annually sponsor a Statistics Career Day in the fall semester for high school and college students, teachers, and parents. The Statistics Career Day is a wonderful opportunity to meet statisticians from a variety of fields, to discover why they chose to pursue statistics as a career, and to learn how their careers developed over time.

 

Announcing the 2009 Statistics Career Day!

Wednesday, November 11, 2009
9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
IUPUI Campus Center, Multipurpose Room A (CE 450)
Indianapolis, IN.

Parking is provided; no participation fee.
Lunch is the responsibility of each participant;
an excellent food court is available in the Campus Center.
Participation is limited to the first 250 registrants.

The Statistics Career Day usually consists of six speakers from academia and industry who give 10- to 15-minute presentations concerning their careers in statistics. Each speaker then answers questions from the audience. If time does not allow all questions to be answered, the speakers are available after the presentations and during the scheduled breaks. In addition to the presentations, various companies, organizations, and universities are on hand to provide information to attendees concerning available statistics opportunities.
