Bob's and Rocco's Top Ten Nine Places to Visit in Indy

There are numerous sites to see in Indy, and everyone has his/her favorites. We took some time from our restaurant review to jot down some sites we felt were notable. For instance, neither of us are crazy about art museums, but we both liked the Indy Art Museum.

  1. Speedway Track and Museum
  2. Awesome. Make sure you take the bus ride around the track. West side of Indy, within easy driving distance.

  3. Monument Circle and War Memorials
  4. This is the heart of downtown Indy. Impressive civil war museum. Nice walk after dinner, but the inside tours tend to close around 5 PM.

  5. Circle Center Mall
  6. World class mall in downtown Indy. Check out the 3rd floor with the games and restaurants.

  7. Canal Walk and White River State Park
  8. New attractions in Indy. The Canal Walk is very scenic. Just north of the convention center. Another nice walk after dinner. Check out the new Medal of Honor Memorial (all US, not just Indiana.)

  9. Children's Museum
  10. If you have children, then this is a must see. If you don't have children, it is still terrific. Lot's of the exhibits are for adults too. Located just 3 miles north of the circle on Meridian.

  11. Art Museum and Lilly Mansion
  12. Very nice art museum. Also, various buildings near the museum left from the Lilly estate. On the near North-West side of Indy, in easy driving range.

  13. Conner Prairie
  14. Re-enactment of the early pioneer days in Central Indiana. Very authentic and educational. Far North-East corner of Indy.

  15. Eagle Creek Park
  16. Very large state part on the North-West side of Indy. Lots of trails and things to do. Great place for a picnic or a walk in the woods. Swimming also.

  17. Benjamin Harrison's House
  18. For real history buffs. In the downtown area.
