Hoosier Science and Engineering Fair
SEFI = Science Education Foundation of Indiana
Central Indiana ASA Outreach Objectives:
1. Encourage Hoosier students to use sound data collection and analysis methods that will make their projects more competitive at the international science and engineering fair.
2. Help Hoosier students use basic concepts of experimental design to decide both the kind and amount of data to collect.
3. Encourage Hoosier students to refine their initial hypotheses in light of their data collection plan; assure that specific hypotheses can be addressed by the planned data.
4. Help Hoosier students use replication and models to quantify and graphically display the uncertainty in their individual measurements.
5. Encourage Hoosier students to actively explore the "practical importance" as well as the "statistical significance" of all effects they observe in their science and engineering projects.
