Multivariate Calculus

Textbook: Calculus, Fifth Edition, James Stewart, Brooks/Cole Publishing Co., 2003.
Prerequisites: Math 164 or equivalent with a grade of C or better
Course Objective: The topics that will be covered in this course include vectors and the geometry of space, vector-valued functions, partial derivatives, multiple integrals, and vector calculus. The topics covered have important applications in science, engineering and statistics.

Withdraw: The last day to withdraw from this class is Friday, March 28, 2008.
Homework: The homework problems for each section are listed on the homework assignment sheet. The homework will not be collected but quiz questions will be similar to the homework problems.
Quizzes: There will be 11 in-class quizzes (15 points each).
Exams: There will be three exams (100 points each)
Final Exam: The final exam will be on May 1, 2008 from 6:00pm-8:00pm. It will be in our regular classroom. It will be a comprehensive exam and will be worth 200 points. Be sure that you do not have any conflicts (work, class, or otherwise) with the time and date of the final exam.
Final point total: Your final point total will be as follows: quizzes 110 points, exams 300 points and final exam 200 points.
Final grade: C's: 60%-74%, B's 75%-89%, A's: 90%-100%.
